Blog No. 44 - Reading Time: 2:45
Well, today will be my last blog for this year. I’m taking a break and will let you know when and if I continue in the future. I mostly posted these 44 blogs this year to share random things that were on my heart. Sometimes I was in the mood Sometimes I was not. However, it’s a good exercise, but I need a break to enjoy the holiday and Mondays have become filled with administrative duties.
Baptisms
This past Sunday was a great day in the house of the Lord. We baptized two new people in our fellowship. Each has a renewed commitment to a deeper walk with the Lord. Nothing blesses my soul more than when I see people who dig into the Word and begin walking a walk of obedience to it. If there are a couple of things I could share after all my years of following the Lord they would be, stay in the Word and stay in church. Add prayer to that and it is what I call the three-legged stool of the Christian faith.
T-Shirts
I finally got the T-Shirt Project underway and distributed all the t-shirts I did not mess up last Sunday. I think our people are proud of them. We did them ourselves and purchased the equipment to bring t-shirt printing in-house. You might say it is our first step to Loft Design, a publication and printing facility we have envisioned for our second floor over Dean Hall. Whatever its future, it will be great to turn out custom t-shirts for events here at Calvary.
Farewell
Well, I hope you enjoyed reading my weekly posts this year, and hopefully you know and understand me a little better. I guess expressing myself in writing is a trait I picked up from my mother. She was quite a prolific writer in her time. I still have many of her writings on my computer. I gave her a computer when she was working on her first book. I encouraged her to get all her material onto the computer so it would not be lost. She did, and I have treasured it ever since.
I hope my expressions have been a treasure to you. I published a weekly blog before this when I first came to Calvary, but the same thing transpired—I needed a break. However, then, I used to have to print them out so people in our congregation could read them. Now, people are more into short blurbs on Facebook, rather than reading a lengthy blog post. I guess it’s the same for me. When I see a wordy post on Facebook, I skip it. Yet, sometimes, when I see the opening of it, I am compelled to read it only to find the words ”copied and pasted” at the end.
Farewell for now, may the Lord bless you! Pray for us!
